Elon Musk wants to put cocaine back in Coca-Cola
Updated: Jan 28
Elon Musk has been on a bit of a bender lately with his posting on Twitter (which he recently acquired, see CNBC article here). Elon's main Twitter-topic lately has been free speech, which seems to be a serious aim, seeing him tweet things like "I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means". However, he's even been more direct, saying, "By 'free speech', I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people." This makes his intent clear, at least. Honestly it's a hopeful venture for him, keeping in mind this is the space Elon comes from and has been successful with in the past (heard of PayPal? There're others as well). The tone temporarily switched a bit lighter on 4/27/2022 when Elon Tweeted "Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in".
^ funny ass video btw, check it out
Now obviously this is a joke as Twitter generates lately ~$5B annually in revenue and Coca-Cola generates lately ~$40B. Buying Coca-Cola would be way more expensive, and since Elon bought Twitter for ~$44B, you can do quick maths to see Elon doesn't have enough BREAD. So according to public knowledge it wouldn't be possible...but you never know what's hiding behind the curtain. It's easy to be elusive.
Elon however followed this up by tweeting "@CocaCola Oh hi lol" For some reason he's pretend following up. This is however likely to cause some marketing employee to forward a satirical request up their leadership chain and waste people's time 🤷🏼♂️. His intent is made clearer when he later jokes again "“Real magic is only a sip away.” (Actual slogan of Coca-Cola!!) 🤣🤣" I'm personally enjoying watching this unfold, what's your opinion of Elon Musk's latest venture?
Until Whenever ~ Ian
